Today was a great day at a Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary! It started with a boat ride from Entebbe to reach the island. A guide gave us some background information before we reached the chimpanzees. When they were scouting locations for this sanctuary they found that this island had the perfect vegetation and was ideally sized. However, there were already people living there and a deal had to be made so the local people would move to a near-by island.

Our group made our way over to the electric fence that mostly separated the chimpanzees from us. The have free roam of most of the island but will go to the gate for snacks that visitors can throw to them. Everyone got some great pictures!
